Dear Mrs. Day,
I want to apologize for not being a good A.P. student. I apologize for upsetting you and not meeting your standards as a student. I realize that I have not be up to part. I apologize for wasting your hard work you put into this class. I promise I will not waste any more. This doesn't mean I'm quitting your class; this means I'm going to work a hundred times more harder in your class. I want to apologize on behalf of my classmates. I guess we never really had a teacher to really pull us to our fullest potential. I apologize for putting you in the same category as any of our other teachers. I hope that none of my classmates drop your class because they will be missing the opportunity to learned from one of the best teachers we have ever had! I truly and sincerely apologize for making you feel like we don't care about you or our education.
Alicia I agree with your mindset. Yet I would like to point out the fact the you have a couple of spelling errors, one of which is in the third sentence.
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of you. We did waste a lot of time.
ReplyDeleteIf any other classmates drop out of the class it is because they are a "weak" individual. Last year, i came to to Mrs.Day, telling her I wanted to be in AP English and I know that was a disappointment to her. It is not that I do not read, it is the fact that a couple of readings just don't catch my attention, but if I have to force myself to read what she assigned then I will. “You put your hand on the plow, you finish the row” I put my hand in AP in his past May and I will finish it this coming May.
ReplyDeleteI accept your apology on behalf of yourself and your classmates. I want you all to be the best we have ever had and NOT only to Sheffield High School standards, but in this city and in this state. I want you all to be able to compete with ANYBODY. You will read a whole lot of stuff you will not like or certainly won't agree with, but I need you to understand it and be able to discuss the piece as a sensible scholar. I NEVER said this would be easy, but I expect the best effort you all can give. Many of you don't give that effort everyday. To pass this exam AND to increase the scores on ACT, I need that effort EVERYDAY. ANgelique was projected to get a 17 or 18 on the ACT as a tenth grader. She read mostly everything we did and tried her best the entire year. She made a substantially higher score because of that effort! I know what I'm doing. You will either let me work my magic or stagnant as being "Sheffield's Best". You choose!
